Which class is right for you
Power Yoga Classes:
Life is challenging at times and we as spiritual beings having human experiences are here to learn and grow from each challenge we face along our path these challenges are called KARMA and everything you encounter on your path is there to teach you and help you grow as a spiritual being. It's perfectly natural to want to avoid and run from discomfort and suffering, but when you do, that karmic lesson will just return again and again, and again. You see karma is not a system of reward and punishment Karma is the teacher, karma is the guru, the only way to learn and grow from every situation in your life is to experience it with total awareness. Every decision you make in this moment determines what the next moment will hold, so POWER YOGA is about spending an hour practicing being present in each moment, accepting what each moment holds, observing your reactive mind as it responds to each challenge, riding your breath and allowing your path to unfold before you, the more you practice doing this on your yoga mat the easier it is to learn, grow and make the right decisions in everyday life. And of course there are the side affects of greater strength, flexibility, balance, cardiovascular health, and weight loss.
Better Backs Classes and Slow Flow Classes:
Better Backs yoga is not a therapeutic class for people with back problems! (If you have a specific condition you'd like to work on healing please contact me and we can work out a one on one private class to address those issues) This class is designed to prevent back problems, in this class we work on strengthening your core, and by core i mean deep core muscles, the muscles that are responsible for stabilizing and holding you upright all day, we also focus on fostering greater spinal flexibility and bringing the entire body/mind into balance through yoga poses and meditation practices.
This is a slow flow class suitable for all ages, no experience necessary.
Satsang:
Satsang is a very important part of the yogis practice, no yoga poses are practiced, instead we meditate, chant, ask questions, and discuss the philosophy and non physical practices of yoga. The word "satsang" comes from two Sanskrit words "sat" meaning truth, and "sangha meaning comunity, so "satsang" is a communtity of truth seekers.
