Beyond Asana An Introduction To Yoga Philosophy

Take The Next Step On Your Journey

What Is Beyond Asana

This workshop is a teacher training level workshop and has been taught as part of teacher training courses.

When i first started practicing yoga nearly 20 years ago i began to notice changes within myself and i wanted to know why, i wanted to know what was happening. All the books i read were cryptic and filled with terms like "samskaras" and "koshas" and "gunas" i tried many times to read the Bhagavad Gita and couldn't even get through the first chapter because i had no context, i didn't have an understanding of what this book was at all. Even in my first yoga teacher training very little was taught about the roots of yoga and the intentions of the Rishis when they handed these practices down. I have spent the last 10 years studying Bhakti yoga and yoga Philosophy under some wonderful teachers... Ram Vakalanka, Ragunath Kappo and Tukaram Prabhu. to name a few and now i'd like to pass this knowledge on to you. This workshop is for those that want to know more, and want to deepen their knowledge of yoga but don‘t want to spend thousands of dollars on a yoga teacher training course when they have no desire to teach yoga. There will be no physical yoga practice during this workshop so if you're curious about yoga and want to learn what yoga has to offer without having to get on a mat and do triangles and warriors Please join me for this 4 week introduction to Yoga philosophy, where we will explore the roots of yoga and shine a light on the true purpose of this amazing practice.

in this workshop you will receive a foundational understanding of the history of yoga and some of the greatest texts ever to come out of India, discover the knowledge contained in the 4 vedas, meet Ram, Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman in the Ramayana, Join Krishna and Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra in the Bhagavad Gita, and explore the 8 limbs of yoga in the yoga sutras of Patanjali. We'll discuss various branches of yoga philosophy, such as Hatha and Bhakti, along the way, hear a few stories and maybe even sing a few songs.

Whether you're new to yoga or have been practicing for years this workshop will help you get in touch with the roots of this ancient practice.
